In Memorium – Robert E. Moore, Jr., Rotarian

Robert Moore, passed peacefully on Thursday, January 28th in Fremont, NH at the age of 86. He was born in Kilgore, Texas, the son of Minnie and Robert Moore. He was a graduate of Notre Dame and Carnegie Mellon with a M.S. in Chemical Engineering. He and his wife, Abigail Foley Moore, raised eight children. He worked as a Corrosion Engineer for 40+ years while living in Wallingford, PA. He retired at age 77. He was an accomplished pianist and was an accompanist for The Valley Voices for 40 years in Rose Valley, PA. He was a voracious reader, loved the classics, poetry, science fiction, the theater and sports. He loved taking his wife to community plays at The Hedgerow Theater and music programs in the city. In his retirement years, he organized monthly poetry readings at a senior living community in Wallingford, PA and also an annual poetry and music event at the Hedgerow Theater. He was a proud Rotarian and an active member of a chapter in Media, PA. He is survived by his wife, Abigail, a brother, Franklin (Seattle, WA), a daughter, Mary, seven sons, Daniel, Michael, Dewey, Christopher, Thomas, John, and Robert, and seven grandchildren. He loved his wife Abby, who adored him. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John Chrysostom Church in Wallingford on Friday, February 12th at 11:00 AM. Calling hours will begin at 10:00 AM.
