1922 – 2015 George Stellwagen Saulnier George Stellwagen Saulnier, a resident in recent years of Riddle Village in Media, PA, George Saulnier peacefully passed away on Friday January 16, 2015 with his daughter and son in law by his side. George Stellwagen Saulnier was born May 12 1922 in Media , PA to Henry Colton Saulnier and Hester Stellwagen Saulnier. George was a 1940 graduate of The Haverford School in Haverford, PA. From Haverford he went on to study Electrical Engineering at The Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He graduated from MIT in 1944. George was a Private in the United States Army during WorldWar II; he served in the Coast Artillery Corps. After the Army and MIT, he went onto Temple University Law School where he was a distinguished member of the Class of 1953. George spent his professional career in private legal practice in Media Pa with the firm Class, Saulnier and Steuerwald. The firm specialized in municipal and civil practice. George had many notable cases, some of which went before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, and even argued cases before The United States Court of Appeals in The Third Circuit. An avid golfer, George was a member of The Springhaven Club in Wallingford , PA for over 40 years. He was also a Rotarian and an active member of The Rotary Club of Media. George S. Saulnier was a quiet man who was both thoughtful and humble. He was a devoted father to his only child Amy with whom he enjoyed many summers in Avalon, NJ. One of his favorite things to do was to take nature walks and he especially enjoyed the Old Mill in Rose Valley, Tyler Arboreutum and Longwood Gardens. He was a fan of the Phillies and the Eagles. Survivors: Loving father of Amy Hesler (David) . Former wife Frances Woodcock Saulnier and several cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Friday after 10:30am at the Cavanagh-Patterson Funeral Home, 43 East Baltimore Ave., Media followed by his service at 11:30am. Interment Private.
