The Rotary Club of Media recently honored two Students of the Month from Penncrest High School, Sydney Reid and Ai-Linh Nguyen.

Sidney Reid, a junior at Penncrest, was the first honoree. Sidney is in the National Honor Society as well as the World Language Honor Society. She has been on the varsity softball team for three years and made the All Delco Carpenter Cup Softball team and a Lion Award recipient. Ms. Reid has also had three years as a varsity basketball player and was voted the Most Improved Player for 2025. She is also vice-president of the class of 2027 council. She was selected to attend the 2023 Delaware County Youth Leadership Academy. Sidney is a member of the NAACP, with her parents volunteers at black sororities and volunteers at the Middletown library as well as at Upper Providence Day.
The second student honoree was Ai-Linh Nguyen, a senior who is a member of the National Honor Society, and the Math, World Language, Social Studies, English and Science National Honor Socities. She is a national Merit semi-finalist and currently applying to be a finalist. She is a four year varsity volleyball player and currently team captain, as well as captain of the Royal Legends volleyball club. She is the president and communications director of the Penncrest chapter of Food4Philly a student run not-for-profit organization fighting food insecurity Philadelphia and Delaware County. Ai-Linh placed in the 99th percentile and received the Gold Award in the national Spanish exam and received the Global Seal of Functional Fluency in Spanish. She was a national qualifier in Future Business Leaders in America and placed sixth in Pennsylvania for personal finance. She plans to major in Economics and Public Policy in college.
