Foundation History

In 1983 the Club formed The Rotary Foundation of Media, a non profit charitable organization with 501-C-3 status under both Federal and State tax statutes. While the main purpose of the Foundation is the distribution of moneys to worthwhile organizations, groups and projects which have direct relevance to the people of the Club’s service area, the members realized there was also a need to fund larger endeavors which the Club could not previously consider. In 1984 the Foundation created a “permanent fund”. The Fund would receive a portion of the donations and place them in secure investments. After a period of time the Foundation would be able to provide a major funding source for community.
