The Rotary Club of Media welcomed two Penncrest High School students, Zahn Li and Isabela Patrizid, as their students of the month for December.
Zahn Li is an eleventh grade student and is a shooting guard in basketball and a sprinter on the track team. He is a member of the Science, World Language and Computer Science honor societies as well as Mu Alpha Theta. He is a gifted musician, playing the piano, guitar, drums and saxophone and he took first place in the Crescendo International Music Competition. He is president of the Penncrest chapter of Food and Philly, and an officer in App-In Club (A on-profit that democratizes coding). He also is a teaching assistant for online coding classes. He participates in STEM and business competitions and has been a competitor in the Physics Olympics. He has been on the distinguished honor roll every year.
Isabella Patrizid is a Penncrest Senior who also is on the distinguished honor roll and is on the National Honor Society as well as the Science, World Language and Rho Kappa honor societies. She took third place in the national Latin exam and received an honorable mention in the New York Times Editorial Writing competition. Ms. Patrizid participates in plays and musicals at Penncrest and is an Aftercare worker at the School in Rose Valley and also works at Whitehorse Village. She has applied to Northeastern University, the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Minnesota and plans to major in psychology with the intention of becoming a therapist.
